Quesnel Lake
Quesnel Lake is home to some of the biggest rainbow trout in the world, this strain of rainbow trout is late maturing and does not spawn until 7 years of age combine that with nutrient rich spawning salmon spawning feeder creek in the fall this provides the right environment for the fish to hit double digit sizes. Lake trout, Bull trout, Kokanee and White fish also live in these waters.
From fishing streamer patterns and egg patterns or spinners and spoons in the creek mouths, dry fly fishing the feeder creeks and rivers or trolling bucktail and plugs for big rainbow and lake trout we can accommodate any style of fishing you prefer.
Some of our most exciting fly fishing is not only on Quesnel lake. We are fortunate enough to be surrounded by many small lakes that are full of aggressive rainbow trout and the still water fishing here can lead to some of the most productive peaceful days you can have on the water. With very limited fishing pressure many of these fish have never seen a fly, are usually willing to bite, and often you are the only person on the lake. Spring and fall tend to be the best time to fish these waters.
